“Millennials plan to spend big this holiday season – on their pets” – Bloomberg
“Christmas is also a key time of the year when people want to treat their pets as they are an integral party of the family celebrations over the festive period and they are often looking for last-minute purchases.” – Talking Retail
Are you ready for holiday impulse purchases? Even if you don’t offer retail at your pet care facility, you can still be ready to take advantage of those last-minute holiday impulse purchases.
- Have gift certificates printed and ready for purchase. Grooming, daycare, training, spa treatments – whatever your services – be ready for pet owners to purchase certificates to give to their own pets, “grandpets”, and pet-crazy friends and colleagues. Make the certificates highly visible in an attractive holiday-themed display near check-out.
- If you offer retail, how about featuring limited edition Christmas products or even simply have holiday flair potential? Group red and green collars, leashes, and stuffed toys in a holiday display. Or how about a shades of blue and gold display?
- Create easy (for you) holiday packages – think treats and toys stuffed in a stocking, basket, or holiday box. Make them readily available at check-out and be sure to let your clients know via social media, website, email blasts, and mobile apps about all of the goodies you have ready for them to help with their last-minute holiday shopping.
