Pet Care Worker Safety: Let’s Safely Start the Summer

by Ben Day

Summer Time and the Pet Care Facilities are filling up fast! Here are some “To Do’s” to consider for the safety of both animals and humans.

Fire Extinguishers
First, let’s not forget to check those fire extinguishers, then, make sure your team members know how to operate them.

Safety Programs

Secondly, by now you have no doubt dusted off your Safety Programs and reviewed/revised them. Right?

Annual Safety Training
Knowing how all IBPSA Members are always on top of things, you certainly have either completed your Annual Safety Training (Hazcom, etc.) or have it on the schedule. Yes?

Emergency Action Plan
And you overachievers – you know who you are – you have already updated your Emergency Action Plan because summer weather is right around the corner.

I know your question is “why spend the time and money”? The answer is simple: the protection of your greatest asset – your employees – is worth it! No employees, no clients, no business.

YOU DECIDE: SAFETY FIRST TO AVOID THE WORST!
