Pet Safety: Are You Asking the Right Questions?

pet safety

To help pet parents choose the best pet care for their furry family members, IBPSA has released a handy, downloadable guide with 29 key questions to ask when interviewing a potential pet care facility. Some you may have thought of but, more importantly, the guide will undoubtedly have at least a few questions you may have not considered such as what is the pet-to-staff ratio? Does the facility have a fire abatement program, and how often is it checked? Does the facility have someone on-site at all times?

When it comes to your pet’s safety, IBPSA believes it’s better to have asked too many questions rather than too few.

Whether you plan on boarding your pet for a day or a week, make sure you know who is caring for your family member. The guide, which can also be printed and distributed as a trifold for sharing, is perfect for concerned citizen groups and for shelter adoption packets.

The International Boarding & Pet Services Association (IBPSA) is dedicated to educating its members and providing the resources they need to create safe and responsible pet care facilities. All IBPSA members have access to safety programs and ongoing safety education. All IBPSA members must pledge to provide conscientious care, deal honestly and fairly, respect customer confidence, continuously learn more and improve services, and operate their business honorably.
